Train Ride

Today we decided to finally, after living in Osceola for almost 4 years, take a train ride from Osceola to Dresser. I can't even begin to tell you how excited Lilly was for the train ride! We told her the night before, and that's all she could think of that night until morning! I was a little concerned about how this active 2-year-old was going to do for 50 minutes on the ride, but she did great and loved every minute of it...well, not the first few minutes I guess, when we first took off! The train kind of jerked while first taking off and she grabbed onto Mike as hard as she could!! Macey really enjoyed it as well. We can't wait for this fall; they have a Halloween ride that we think would be lots of fun! The train ride was a blast and highly recommended :)

Lilly bug and Macey's Spring Concert

Little Miss Lilly outside getting ready to help us put our garden in.
I love the above picture of Lilly!! She's pouting because she didn't want me to take anymore pictures of her!!

My little helper...She loves watering the flowers and all the plants.

Macey above all dressed up for her Spring Concert.

Not the best picture, but Macey is almost right directly in the middle.

Macey had her Spring Concert this past Thursday. The theme was "Destination Rock N Roll." They did some Elvis Presley and Buddy Holly songs, along with some others that I can't think of right now. Grandma Awe likes/liked Elvis so Macey invited her to come to the concert, and she was able to make it to that and her first game so that was nice. I don't think Macey liked doing some of the moves they had to do along with the songs based on her expression through most of those parts!
Lilly continues to amaze us each and every day, especially with her vocabulary! She still loves reading books and now is enjoying driving Macey's old Power Wheels Jeep, which we just got a new battery for. She still loves playing with her dolls and stuffed animals and likes carrying a purse around as well.

First Youth Baseball Game

Macey had her first game last Wednesday night. It was absolutely FREEZING with clouds and a little bit of rain, but it was still so much fun to watch! Macey only got up to bat once during the game. I believe she had a strike or two but then hit it pretty good. Unfortunately she got out on first base and wasn't very happy about that! So far she's really liking it, though she's a little afraid of the ball since practice with Mike a few weeks ago when she was hit right in the mouth with the ball! Her gums were bleeding and she thought her permanent tooth was loose; thank goodness it wasn't!

Girl Scouts Bridging Ceremony

Macey has now gone from a Brownie to a Junior Girl Scout next school year. I wasn't so sure I wanted her to be in it at all this fall, but she really wanted to so I said we'd try it for one more year and see how it is.

Photo Shoot

Here is a collage from the girls' latest pictures we had taken. We are pretty happy with how they turned out this time. We had a great photographer, and, best of all, the girls were happy and very cooperative!

Sisterly Love and Big Girl Bed

It's not every day that I catch the girls being so loving towards one another, but on this day we happened to be outside when the bus came so Lilly was very excited to see her sister actually get off the bus! She still misses Macey very much during the day!
Lilly is finally out of her crib and into her "big girl" bed - yay! We thought we would have a lot more problems than we are keeping her in her bed; she's actually doing very well. I would say the first week or two she got out once a night or during nap time, and now it's rare that she gets out with the exception of the middle of the night when she has to get up to go potty and then comes crawling into our bed! That actually has been getting better as well, and I'm happy to report that she has slept through without waking three nights in a row, which is great for her (and us!)!!
Macey has decided to try youth baseball and will be beginning practice for that next week. The games begin in about two weeks then so that will be fun for the family to watch. She has been keeping busy with her Girl Scouts and having quite a few play dates with her friends from school. She's definitely looking forward to the summer.

Fun in May

The other day it was just beautiful out so Lilly and I hung outside for hours while Macey was at school and Mike at work. Above is Lilly showing off on her new scooter! She has been trying to get on Macey's big scooter for some time now, and rather than having her break a bone trying, we decided to get her one her size! She does pretty well on it actually.
